It started like just another dangerous driver weaving through traffic. Speeding up. Slamming on the brakes. Swerving into oncoming lanes. Other drivers laid on their horns, some swerving to avoid a collision, others pulling out their phones to document what they were seeing.
Then came the near-miss.
That was enough for police to intervene.
Officers caught up to the vehicle just as it rolled through an intersection without stopping. When emergency lights flashed behind him, the driver hesitated — then slowed to an unsteady stop on the roadside.
From the moment officers approached the window, something was clearly wrong.
Slurred words. Unfocused eyes. Uncontrolled movements. The smell of alcohol and something stronger in the air. Simple questions became confusing. Basic instructions went ignored or misunderstood.
The situation quickly escalated from a routine traffic stop into a full DUI investigation.
Field sobriety tests only made things worse.
Unbalanced steps. Incoherent talking. Frustration turning into agitation. At one point, the driver even claimed he was “perfectly fine” — despite barely being able to stand.
